Being a college town as well as a capitol city, Tallahassee attracts its share of big name acts. The Civic Center has played host to such personalities as Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, Garth Brooks and John Mellencamp, among many others.

For reasonably priced concerts, you can't beat the Musical Moon. Built in the remnants of an old grocery store, the Moon has evolved into a fresh and quirky little stop on the "B" list concert tour. Sometimes, you can find some really innovating acts gracing the stage over at the Moon. Generally, it'll be acts that are still known well, but are not in their prime anymore. For example, recent acts have included the latest reincarnation of the Allman Brothers Band, Billy Squier, etc.

In addition to being a concert hall, the Moon is a full bar, so you can not only enjoy the music, you can have a few cocktails and get to know new people.

Mission San Luis de Apalachee

1656 to 1704 Mission San Luis was the capitol of western Spanish Florida. Today, the Mission brings the 17th century to life through interpreters, viewings and tours. The site is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is free. The Mission also offers special events, day camps for children and workshops for adults throughout the year.

Tallahassee Museum of History and Natural Science

Occupying 52 acres and serving a 13-county area, the 1880s farm complex and the Natural Habitat Zoo provide a natural setting to educate and promote an understanding of the Big Bend area's natural and cultural history.  It gets a bit hot in the summer, but the winters are lovely.  The new playground is great, and the Discovery Center is a fabulous place to learn

New Capitol Building

While in Tallahassee stop by the new state capitol building of the state of Florida.  Discover how Florida policies are innovated, discovered and put into process.  The new capitol building is a breathtaking sight and was a wonder of how it was constructed so flawlessly.  A trip here will leave you gasping for more, and wanting to entrench yourself with Florida knowledge.

Tallahassee Antique Car Museum.

The antique car museum boasts an amazing array of the finest cars to roll on the streets since the first model-T.  Enjoy makes such as Ferrari, Porsche, Ford, GM, Pontiac, Datsun and Dodge.  Also view famous cars such as the bat mobile and other cars seen in the movies.

                            The Tallahassee Car Museum has a wonderful collection of antique vehicles. It was definitely better than what I had expected. It was a lot fun to see an original "Model T" and the Bat mobile. It not only has vehicles, but other antique memorabilia as well, i.e.. original cash register models, bicycles, soda machines, old newspaper clippings, etc. We had a great time. A wonderful attraction to see in Tallahassee.
